Mostardi Nursery is proud to announce our recent award as a Green Business Leader for Newtown Square! For many years we have donated plants and supplies to the township for welcome signs and township parks.

So many customers come in and say, “ I’m in my happy place!”

We like to think we are improving the quality of life for our customers by being a reliable source for exceptional trees, shrubs, annuals, perennials, and houseplants – and providing the knowledge and supplies to keep those plants healthy.

Last year we designated a section of the nursery to native trees, shrubs, perennials, and ornamental grasses. This was received so enthusiastically by shoppers, that we will be expanding this section in 2024.

How can your garden make a difference?

1. Shrink your lawn (even just a little bit at a time)

2. Remove invasive plants

3. Replace with keystone plants

Keystones are native plants crucial to the food web and ecosystem because they support so many other plants, animals, and insects throughout their life cycles.

Planting native plants under your existing trees provides soft landings to beneficial insects that spend part of their lifecycle in trees and then drop to the ground.

Native plants also provide habitat for these insects which in turn support other animals like birds.
